Chainalysis Teams Up With Deloitte To Surveil the Blockchain

Objectives of Partnership

The partnership targets government agencies facing hurdles in fighting crypto-related crimes by helping them investigate obfuscation techniques like chain-hopping, mixers, and decentralized finance (DeFi), as well as illicit use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), tokens, and stablecoins. The team-up also follows money both from fiat to crypto (and vice versa) in order to identify potential money laundering activities.

Chainalysis will work with Deloitte’s blockchain and digital asset practice across cryptocurrency and digital asset risk, analytics, investigation, anti-money laundering/know your customer (AML/KYC), and regulatory compliance. As part of their collaboration they will be providing their blockchain dataset, analytics software and training program as well as risk assessment services which include investigations into illegal activities such as money laundering or terrorist financing using cryptocurrencies or digital assets.
