The Helix Network introduces so-called “Validator Nodes”, whose primary task is to link milestones to the tangle and to arrange the respective “cutset”, i.e. an interval from milestone to milestone+1, linearly. Milestones are transactions that carry a special digital signature and are ultimately responsible for confirming transactions. Using the “Schnorr Digital Signing Algorithm”, the validators would collectively sign the milestone to be set so that each network member can prove the authenticity or origin of the milestone.
What is your incentive for cryptosoft network participants?
The validators execute a modified “practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance Algorithm” (pBFT) to agree on milestone and order. The probability of being selected as “Primary” or “Leader” is proportional to the respective “reputation” of the cryptosoft validator. Scalable Bias Resistant Distributed Randomness” is used to select the primary. The network is completely permissionless, so joining the group of validators does not require any approval – it is only the reputation that decides whether the validator exists or does not exist. The reputation value of the validator is derived from the entire Proof of Work assigned to it by Fullnodes or Lightnodes. In the Helix network, each participant inevitably chooses a specific validator, to which he commits himself with the respective transaction. Incidentally, this fundamental concept is what makes the smooth integration of Smart Contracts and Proof of Useful Work possible in the first place.
In addition to altruistic incentives such as very low energy consumption, there is also an economic interest. Validators will be able to manage so-called “fabrics”. Fabrics are a combination of compute nodes assigned to a specific task, such as protein folding. A client can send its data set for processing to a “fabric primary” (e.g. validator), which in turn forwards it to the fabric intended for the task. The reward is distributed fairly between all compute nodes within the fabric, while the fabric primary receives a commission. In this respect, a validator has a strong incentive to improve its reputation.
What are the crypto trader you are targeting?
Helix and some crypto trader partners are currently working on a number of use cases, which will serve as timely proofs of concept on TestNet. More details about the scam will be announced by onlinebetrug in due course.
Our main focus at the moment is on “Beams”, a bio-marketplace that enables the secure transmission of sensitive bio-data and thus sets a milestone in personalized healthcare. It will also enable the streaming or subscription of a stream of biologically valuable data against compensation. It should be noted that the integrity of the data must be quantified in order to create an attractive offer for research and industry.
Our second use case, which we can already mention here, is “Decentralized Cloud Computing as a Service”, which focuses on the fabrics mentioned above. As already mentioned, these fabrics represent a combination of compute nodes that perform resource-intensive computing tasks in return for compensation. In this way “meaningless” proof of work is eliminated and at the same time an attractive reward system for our network participants is created. Our Decentralized Computing combined with Storage and Databases as a Service forms a Decentralized Cloud (DPaaS).
